Before the session

Before the scheduled session time, make sure that your house is really warm. This will help baby to settle and sleep through the photo session.

There is no need to keep the baby awake for longer periods than usual, just follow their routine as usual.

Think about where in your home has the best natural light and make sure that your spaces are clutter free.

Open your curtains and blinds wide, letting in as much natural light as possible.

During the session

When I arrive it will take me about 15 to 20 minutes to set up my props. The first thing I will do on arrival is wash my hands, then I will ask you to guide me to the location in which you would like to shoot. If you are unsure, we can take a little walk around to choose the perfect spot.

I will then show you the different outfit and wrap choices I have brought for your little one and let you choose. You can then change baby into the outfit you have chosen.

While you are dressing your baby, I will be setting up the posing beanbag and any other props I will be using. I may choose to set up a softbox for additional lighting if the room is dark.

When you are ready, I will lay baby on the beanbag and wrap them if you wish. Once baby has been wrapped, I will start with the family photo as siblings tend to lose interest quickly! If you have chosen the family matters or all inclusive package I will take a few family photos at this stage and take more throughout.

I will then pose baby on the beanbag for 30 minutes at a time. If at any stage your baby needs to be fed or changed that is absolutely no problem at all.

I will do two different wraps and two outfit changes during the session.

When I have come to the end of the session I will take one final family photo.

After the session

I will prepare and deliver a "sneak peek" of 2 - 5 watermarked images and send them to your email within 48 hours of the scheduled session. I will deliver your digital images via my website within 3 weeks of the scheduled session. Any prints or products ordered as part of your package will be delivered within 4 weeks of your scheduled session.

I often post images on my instagram page, and can post your sneak peek on instagram without a watermark the evening of the session if you wish.

Covid-19

While Covid-19 may no longer be in the news, it can post a real risk to newborns. Because of this, I will take an antigen test the morning of your scheduled session. On my arrival to your house, I will wash my hands after being in the car and sanitise my hands regularly throughout the session. I will also wear a facemask at your request.
